1/25/2017 Small Wins!Scripture: Zechariah 4:10 & Luke 15: 7-10
Celebrate Small Wins: When we make small mistakes we almost always feel bad about it, but when we accomplish a small goals, we almost never feel good about it. It's time to celebrate small wins! “Do not despise these small beginnings” is how the New Living translation says it! “Do not overlook your small wins!” Remember the Bible tells us that: Heaven celebrates when one sinner repents. Small wins are progress points on your way to a bigger goal. Small wins help you recognize that you are accomplishing things. "Small wins when celebrated actually create an event in your brain. They activate the reward circuitry of our brains and key chemicals are released that give us the feelings of: achievement, accomplishment and pride in oneself." You will be feel: emotionally, naturally and spiritual better! Celebrate the small wins you’re achieving in your walk with God. This: creates momentum, reinforces positive outcomes, motivates corrective actions, gives us hope to face challenges and attracts others: everyone loves a winner. It's time to celebrate! 1/6/2017 A New Chapter Scripture: Philippians 3: 13-14
Are you ready to turn the page to the next chapter of your life? Ask yourself the question: does this reality fill you with anticipation or dread? The beginning of a new year is a new chapter in each of our lives. The pages are fresh and unmarked. The challenge is to move beyond yesterday. Are we going to believe in yesterday or in the upward call of God? There are some things we all need to forget. Looking back makes it very hard to reach forward. People can look at life as a series of punishments for not getting things right! We can learn to trust God to write an amazing chapter in our story of life: The next chapter can have spiritual and natural progress. The next chapter can also contain trials. Let us not focus on the villains, let’s focus on the hero Jesus. This New Year expect good things. Our expectations control our vision. The next chapter of your life lived for Jesus Christ is a good story. Life is story of love & loss, sin & salvation, brokenness & healing, defeat & victory. It’s a story of redemption – story of recovery, freedom from error, recouping of your losses. It’s a story of a runaway – we all have at times in life when we went the wrong direction. But it’s also a story of a rescuer – Jesus is delivering us from danger, imprisonment and self-destruction. God is doing something good in each of us.
