3/26/2016 Begin Your JourneyScriptures: Job 14:14
Job asked the question of the ages: "If a man die, shall he live again?" That is one of most important questions that we could ever ask, for life is our most precious possession Every year at Easter thousands of people climb a mountain in the Italian Alps and stand at an outdoor crucifix. They come to remember that the Lord Jesus died on the cross for their sins: this place is called the Stations of the Cross and they come to this place on Easter to worship. Yet, they do not adventure any further, they stop at the Calvary. "Yet a story tells of one man who followed a trail beyond the cross and was let to another shrine that represented the empty tomb. This area was neglected and overgrown, because many had gone as far as the cross, but there they had stopped. Far too few have not moved beyond the cross to find the real message of Easter...of the empty tomb." There is a second part of the Easter story: what is the secret of the empty tomb? What does it mean for your life: here and now? The resurrection of Jesus Christ provides answers to the question of life after death. If a man dies, shall he live again? Yes! The resurrection of Christ is the proof! We must always remember that Easter does have a cross, but also an empty tomb! The cross is the first part: the place of forgiveness: a new beginning! The empty tomb is the second part- the place of new life, a radically transformed life, a victorious life and eternal life. Life is short: don't waste a moment. Death is certain and eternity is forever. In Jesus the future is known! The answer to Job's question is that death was defeated and man shall live again! Today climb up the hill to the cross of Calvary for forgiveness. Don't stop there! Take the trail to the empty tomb and receive resurrection power! Begin your journey all the way to the land of the living! 3/13/2016 Truth Versus FactsScriptures: John 8:31-32
Truth has a way of confronting facts: "Jesus saith unto Him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6. A fact is something that is said to be true or supposed to have happened, while truth is the self expression of God. Truth is the way things really are because God has declared it to be so. John 8:32: "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." In life there are facts we will face: bad economies, declining morality, waves of violence, sickness, pain, mental illness and spiritual illness. But facts are different than truth: facts are what the enemy of our soul throws at us to try to shape our beliefs. Facts do not make us free; facts are not truth in the spiritual realm. Facts are sight-based, but we walk by faith, not by sight. Do you believe in God? That's faith! Facts will have you researching miracles; truth will have you activating miracles! Facts enslave because they control our thoughts, but truth states with God all things are possible! God's truth will always prevail over the facts of man! The facts say you are sick: truth says God heals! The facts say you are having financial difficulties: truth says that God supplies all our needs. The facts state that you are facing hardships: truth states that you are more than a conqueror. Do not substitute facts for the truth! Faith is more than a belief in facts. Decide to get to know the truth more and get to know Jesus more! Trust your well-being to the Word of God. Truth will always prevail over facts! |
