10/8/2012 God is Pouring Out His SpiritScriptures: Joel 2:28-29 and Acts 2:16-17
God has promised that in the last days He would pour out His spirit upon all flesh: men, women, young, old, educated, uneducated, rich, poor, good and bad. All flesh: gender is not factor, age is not a factor, race is not a factor, education is not a factor, our righteousness is not a factor, and wealth is not a factor. The only factor is our flesh: we are the only thing that can get in the way of God's spirit moving us. The Holy Spirit is available to ALL who will receive Him! The Holy Spirit makes Jesus real to us, because it takes the supernatural to reveal the supernatural. The Bible says that "your sons and daughters shall prophesy": meaning that they will speak the mysteries of God. "Your old men shall dream dreams": we will be seeing beyond the present. "Your young men shall have visions": we will experience the possibilites which exist in the promises of God. The Holy Spirit turns us away from unbelief, mistrust and rebellion. It teaches us to have a true reliance on God. When we experience salvation there are three parts: private, public and supernatural. Repentance is private, its when we truly challenge the presence of sin in our lives and choose to move away from it. Baptism is public, we make a public oath to allow our sins to be wiped clean and we are released from the penality of our inquity. Finally the the Holy Spirit comes into us, the supernatural power reveals to the us the consequences of sin and changes us. The Holy Spirit provides the tools we need to love a Christian life: the fruits of the spirit. We begin to have evidence that God is alive in our lives. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindess, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. The Holy Spirit gives us power to make Jesus real to others: it directs us to love, to forgive and to overcome. It empowers us to have spiritual successs and increases our faith while expanding our potential! The Bible points to the Day of Pentecost as the time when God began this our pouring of His Spirit. If 2000 years ago were considered the last days where do we stand today? Its time to experience the promise of God: allow Jesus to come into your life and fill you with His spirit.
