3/25/2017 Resurrecting the art of Blessing OthersScriptures: 1 Corinthians 4:9-13, Romans 12:14, Hebrews 11: 20-21
In these verses we read that "being reviled, we bless," The word reviled means: "to abuse, attack with evil works," and the Bible tells us "Blessed are ye, when men revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." The Word tells us to "bless and curse not," Paul wanted the Roman church to be the paradigms for the Roman culture not have their culture define them. There are five reasons why we should bless others, even those who revile us: 1) When we do: we emulate God! He has the sun rise and the rain fall on both the good and evil. 2) God demonstrates extraordinary longsuffering towards us all daily! 3) When we bless, a blessing is returned to us! 4) Words of grace and patience produce more good fruit than words of anger and frustration. 5) When we bless those who curse us, we break the cycle of anger and hatred. Blessing is the projection of good into the life of another: by faith we can bless others. Notice the needs of others that God puts in your path. Pray about ways to solve some one else's problems, ask God how you can bring good into someone's darkness! Be a source of constant encouragement for others. Lift others up by complimenting them. Take a genuine interest in others. Show courage on the behalf of others. Feel the touch of the Divine within your own self and pass that feeling on to others. God heals us when we take the time to pray for others! Comments are closed.
