4/29/2017 Resurrection PowerScriptures: Philippians 3:7-11
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ was truly an amazing event. This is not event that just happened a longtime ago: the power of this event is still at work today! Paul stated: “that I may know him and the power of his resurrection.” Paul wanted to have direct contact with this power. Paul was a man on a mission. Paul discovered that the resurrection of Jesus could be applied to his life and was determined to experience the power associated with Jesus’ resurrection. He let go of the past and pursued the prize with single minded passion. Resurrection power is transforming power. This process involves the transformation of the whole person in thoughts, behaviors, and styles of relating with God and others. Through the resurrection of Jesus we have been given the opportunity to be changed and to come back to God. Resurrection power is a conquering power. Conquer means to "successfully overcome a problem or weakness.' Jesus was flogged. The enemy tried to steal his dignity and strength: Every stripe meant victory for us. By His strips we are healed. Jesus was crucified. The enemy's goal was to kill him: His blood purchased our salvation. Jesus was buried in a tomb. The enemy wanted to destroy him for good: Jesus descended, took the keys to death & hell from Satan and set the captives free. There is a spiritual enemy who wants to seal your fate. By stealing your dignity and strength. He wants to kill your hopes and dreams. He wants to destroy your faith in God. But on the 3rd day Jesus resurrected. Death, hell and the grave could not hold him. The enemy tried the enemy failed. God is a healer by nature and by name. Jesus not only heals our bodies, but he also heals our relationships. My God shall supply all your needs and Salvation belongs to the Lord. To have resurrection power we must follow the footsteps of Jesus: Hear: faith comes by hearing the word of God, believe: for he who comes to God must believe that He is. Repent: ask forgiveness. Confess that Jesus is Lord of your life: Romans 10:10: "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. " Be baptized: Mark 16: 16 Jesus said he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. We are buried with him in baptism. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit – it is promised to you from God. The Holy Spirit resurrects us to have a new life. Live faithfully. Comments are closed.
