9/13/2012 Taking Back a Winning SpiritHebrews 12:1-2
Imagine a track meet. The runner are all lined up on their starting blocks awaiting the race the start, what do you think is on their minds? What should they be focused on? The spectators? Past won or lost races? Their selves, their pains and injuries? The other runners alongside them? The score board and their odds? Or the finish line? To win the race the runner must be focused on reaching the finish line; they need to keep their mind fixed on their goal! Winners are not always the fastest runners. To win we must release encumbrances and get rid of the things that are getting in our way. We need to let go of burdens, zoning out hindrances and obstructions. We need to stop focusing on the negative in life and keep our focus on the goal, because God has destined for us to win! We need to take back a winning spirit: we were not created to be loser! God has already overcome! We need to recognize the sins that get us entangled and gain victory over them. Identify the issues and start running past them with endurance. Keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, instead of all the distractions around us. To win this life race we need to give Jesus our best, offer Him every ounce of our being. We need to be singlely minded: Jesus alone. Our God is bigger than anything we face and He ordains us to be winners! Expect great things and see yourself already victorious. It's time to take back our lives, time to once again have a winning spirit. Comments are closed.
