Scriptures: 2 Kings 4:1-7
Have you ever run out of time, options or resources? The widow was in this situation: she had lost her husband and she was in debt. She was in a place where she could lose everything. The good thing is she went to the right person to find answers to her dilemma. Elisha asked her: "what's in your house?" Her reply: "nothing except a little oil." God's miracles many times start with what we already have. Everybody has something: an idea, a strong body for labor or even a minor skill. Small things can be marvelous things in the right hands. God uses things that we may never ever consider. What small things does God want to use in your life? Challenge the thinking that says that the fulfillment of your dreams is residing in some other person's hands. So what's the point? What the widow called nothing became everything she needed! It does take action on our part to discover the power of small things. Elisha told her: "go borrow vessels." We must remember that they were empty vessels! The woman began to pour and God filled every jar. The woman's ability to receive ended before God's ability to provide. God had to turn off the spigot. She went from the end of her rope all the way to the top. Discover the power of small things in the hands of a big God: remember David's small stone killed a giant! Gideon's small army conquered an army that was too large to count. Small things in the hands of God lead to great victories. If you need a miracle its time to discover small things in big hands.
