9/11/2017 The Unknown!Scriptures: Joshua 3: 1-4 & Isaiah 43: 1-2
The unknown can be scary. Many times the Christian faith takes us into uncharted territory. In the Bible, the Lord told Joshua; “you have not passed this way before.” But Joshua was told to follow the Ark of the Covenant (which was a representation God’s presence) and then he “would know they way he must go." How can we as Christians face the future with confidence? Believe God’s promises about the our future: Jesus said: “I go to prepare a place for you.” Our future is not unknown: fear not he has redeemed you. You are His! Focus your attention on the good that God has promised you: when you pass through the waters, He will be with you! When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned: your future rests in God's hands! It's time to believe! It's time to overcome the fear of abandonment: abandonment cause painful messages to play out in our minds. Things like: you are not important or you are not of value. Abandonment can cause excessive controlling behaviors and commitment issues! God loves you so much: He could never leave you, its promised: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Enable the Power of the Holy Spirit: the Holy Spirit gives us power to live, to act and to respond. "But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit". Jude 1: 20. "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world". 1 John 4:4. The Holy Spirit in you is greater than the unknown. Trust your unknown future to the all-knowing God. Your future is secure in Jesus and He will never leave you. Turn on the power of the Holy Ghost – building yourself up. |
