2/6/2012 Feeling SurroundedScriptures: 2 Chronicles 20:1-4, 2 Chronicles 20:20-22
Does the power of praise work in the kings of battles we face today? The answer is yes! Praise works for the big and small battles. Ask yourself: am I feeling surrounded? Then there are steps you can take to overcome! 1) Make a decision to praise: Jehoshaphat was full of fear, but he called a prayer meeting. A prophet showed up and he spoke: "thus says the Lord to you: do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's." So Jehoshaphat appointed praise singers: "who should praise the beauty of holiness." When your surrounded make a decision to praise God. 2) Direct your praise to God: We must decide which way we are looking: are you looking around at your issues or looking up towards God where your help comes from? Jehoshaphat had the army look at the praise singers not the enemy: "now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes." Send praise up and God will take care of what is surrounding you. 3) Determine the duration of your praise: Many praise when the battle is over, but Israel praised before, through and after the battle! God dwells in our praise and we experience the power of His presence. God's presence changes things and we find delieverance in praise. If you are feeling surrounded its time to take action. Take your Bible and read the following passages: Psalm 46:1-11 and Psalm 47:1-9. Turn these verses into prayer and claim the Word of Truth in your life and watch God Comments are closed.
