8/4/2015 The Promise of HeavenScriptures: John 14:1-3
Jesus spoke of the hope of Heaven, saying: "Do not let your heart be troubled," "In my Father's house are many mansions," "I go to prepare a place for you." Jesus is making preparations for your arrival. Let's look now at the glories of Heaven: 1) All pain will be gone: all injustices will pass away, because God is a just God. Broken relationships will be gone forever. All our mistakes and regrets will vanish from our thoughts and temptation to repeat our errors will never return. In Heaven, we will experience true freedom. 2) All loneliness will be gone: "The number one complaint of Americans about life in general is that they are lonely." In Heaven, we will have uninterrupted fellowship with our Maker and with His children. The important reality of Heaven is that Jesus will be with us: there will be no more barriers of separation. There will be no second-guessing people's motives or worrying about being misunderstood. We will be free to receive love without hesitation or guilt. 3) All searching and waiting will be gone: God's presence will drench our existence. No more searching for truth or overcoming doubts: no more waiting for answers. No more worry over paying bills, making the rent or dealing with debt. 4) All hardship will be gone: No rejection, no betrayal and no ridicule. No physical torture or sickness. No worry over our safety: there is no danger in Heaven. There is no evil intent in Heaven. We will have a meaningful existence in Heaven: there will be a time when we fill a place of leadership. We will always have the resources and answers we need to accomplish our tasks: it will be the most important position you will ever fill. Heaven is a wonderful place, because Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you. The promise of Heaven: "the blessed hope." Comments are closed.
